Chat
Chat rules
Chat is for talking about what's on with the people watching it with you. Keep it friendly, keep it about the cartoons, and keep yourself private.
The rules
- You must be 13 or older. Chat isn't for younger kids, and it switches off during the preschool blocks.
- Be kind. No bullying, hate, threats or anything you wouldn't say on TV.
- Keep yourself private. Never share your real name, age, school, address, phone number or photos.
- Stay here. Don't ask people to add you on other apps, and don't share links. Chat blocks links, handles and phone numbers automatically.
- No spam. Chat slows you down if you send messages too fast.
- Keep it clean. Rude words are starred out.
How chat works
- Two rooms. This channel is for everyone on your channel, worldwide. Everyone is for the whole site. The schedule follows local time, so someone in another country may be watching a different show: their messages say what's on their screen. Big rooms split into lounges of about 40 people.
- Nothing is saved. You only see messages sent while you're in the room. When you leave, they're gone. Someone in the room could still take a screenshot, so only write what you'd be happy for anyone to see.
- Random names. You get a random name like "Sneaky Coyote" with a short tag. You can't choose a name, so nobody can pretend to be someone else.
- Off during kids' shows. Chat turns off while a channel is airing its Little Ones or Story Time blocks, and comes back when they end.
- Peer-to-peer. Chat connects your browser directly to the other people in the room. Like any direct connection, this lets them see your IP address, which can show your rough location. If that's a concern, don't join. See the privacy policy.
If someone is bothering you
- Mute them. Tap their name and press Mute. You won't see their messages again on this device.
- Leave. Press "Leave chat" at any time. You can keep watching without it.
- Tell a grown-up you trust if anyone makes you uncomfortable or asks you to talk somewhere else.
Chat isn't watched by moderators yet, so we can't remove messages or ban people. Muting is the best tool for now. Better moderation is planned.
