How CartoonTV works

Classic cartoons, just like real TV

Remember coming home from school and switching on the TV? That's the whole idea. You don't pick an episode. You pick a channel and watch whatever is on air.

How to watch

  1. 1 POWER Press Turn on. The TV joins whatever is airing right now, mid-episode and all.
  2. 2 CHANNEL Flip with CH ▲ ▼, the arrow keys or a channel number. The TV guide below shows what's on later.
  3. 3 CHAT Open the Chat tab to talk about what's on with everyone watching. Tap an emoji to react on screen.

Questions

What is CartoonTV?

A TV for the cartoons you grew up with. Three channels play on a fixed daily schedule, and you watch whatever is on when you tune in, just like coming home from school and switching on the TV.

Can I pick an episode or rewind?

No, and that's the point. Like real TV, you can only change the channel. The TV guide shows what's coming up, and if you miss something it comes round again.

Is it free? Do I need an account?

It's free, with no account and no ads. Open the page and press Turn on.

Where do the cartoons come from?

Every episode is an official upload from the rights holder's own YouTube channel, played through YouTube's player. CartoonTV doesn't host any video, and every show page links to the episodes on YouTube.

What time zone is the schedule in?

Yours. Each channel's day runs from 6 AM to 6 AM local time, so the after-school block airs after school wherever you are. Everyone in your time zone on the same channel sees the same moment.

Which shows are on, and when?

There are over 100 shows across three channels, from Tom and Jerry to Teen Titans. Browse all shows, or open a show to see which channel and block it airs in.

Can I watch with subtitles?

Yes. Press MENU on the TV, turn on captions and pick any language, including YouTube's automatic translation. The audio is the original upload's language, which is English for most shows.

How does the chat work?

Open the Chat tab next to the TV. "This channel" is for everyone on your channel, and "Everyone" is for the whole site. Messages show what the sender is watching, since another time zone may be on a different show. You get a random name, and nothing is saved: only the people in the room at that moment see your messages. Read the chat rules.

Is CartoonTV OK for kids?

The cartoons are, and Cartoon Comedy has preschool blocks every morning (Little Ones at 6 AM, Story Time at 9 AM). Chat is for ages 13 and up, switches off during those blocks and isn't watched by moderators yet, so younger kids should watch without it. See the privacy policy.

Why is there no sound when I tune in?

Some browsers block sound until you interact with the page. If you see "TAP FOR SOUND", tap the screen once.
